Three start-ups each from the EU and India emerged as winners at the Battery Recycling Technologies Matchmaking Event, hosted under the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC). These start-ups will participate in a fully-funded market immersion experience in the EU and India, connecting with key stakeholders, visiting recycling facilities, and exploring collaborations.
Additionally, Primobius (Germany) and Lohum (India) were selected to join the cohort to explore market access opportunities, though without financial assistance.

EU start-ups visiting India
Ecomet Refining (Italy): Specialises in recovering and refining metals from e-waste, lithium-ion batteries, and more, using energy-efficient technology.
Eneris (Poland): Focuses on mechanically treating battery packs, producing first-grade black mass.
Tozero (Germany): Recovers critical materials from battery waste using a hydrometallurgical process.
Primobius (Germany): Offers a comprehensive recycling solution for various Li-ion batteries with a modular design.

Indian start-ups visiting the EU
BatX Energies: Uses advanced technology to recycle lithium-ion batteries, achieving high recovery rates.
Evergreen Lithium Recycling Pvt. Ltd.: Recycles lithium-ion batteries, extracting and reusing critical metals.
LW3 Pvt. Ltd.: Provides EV Battery Passport services using blockchain and De-Fi technology.
Lohum: A leader in India’s lithium-ion battery recycling, serving global customers and suppliers.

This initiative fosters cross-border partnerships and innovation in battery recycling, aiming to drive industry growth in both regions.
The matchmaking event, part of the EU-India TTC, was organised by the EU and India's Principal Scientific Adviser, focusing on Clean and Green Energy Technologies. It represents a key step in strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, technology, and innovation.
