UK waste management machinery designer and manufacturer Whitham Mills has been appointed by the government of Ras al- Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to provide waste processing machinery at one of its MRF facilities.
The contract is the latest in a growing line of export deals for the company and has seen Whitham Mills install a GB1108 baler, along with an accompanying 6000lb feed conveyor, the company announced. The GB1108 is fully automatic and able to process up to 12 tonnes per hour. Capable of handling both paper and cardboard, it can produce bales weighing up to 740kg and measuring 1100mm x 750mm x 1500mm.
The firm, which is based near Manchester, completed the installation in October and Whitham Mill’s Managing Director Ben Smart says he is pleased with the company’s continued growth into international markets: “This contract is the latest in a succession of export deals for Whitham Mills.
Part of our growth strategy has always been to take our reputation for providing reliable and cost effective recycling solutions to a global marketplace. Recently we have been sought out to deliver waste processing machinery in Norway, France and Germany.
We’re now looking for distribution partners to work with on the continent and would invite interested parties to get in touch. There is also likely to be further work in the UAE following the successful delivery in Ras al-Khaimah.”
Whitham Mills Engineering Ltd is based in Todmorden. It designs, manufactures, installs and maintains waste processing equipment to customers in the retail, logistics, warehousing and waste management sectors. It is ISO quality assured and develops proprietary systems to meet the needs of its customers, says the company.
