Emirates has unveiled the second edition of its sustainable luxury luggage line – Aircrafted by Emirates 2025 Collection. This limited-edition series of 167 handmade luggage and bags, fashioned from upcycled materials salvaged from retired Emirates aircraft, is now available for purchase on the Emirates Official Store, according to the press statement.

The previous collection sold out swiftly, raising over USD 17,000 in proceeds that were channelled to the Emirates Airline Foundation to support children in need. A similar philanthropic direction is planned for the 2025 edition.

The new line includes three trolley bag designs, two backpack styles, and two handbags, including one made from the fur of an Emirates Captain’s seat. In a striking blend of sustainability and style, some bags also feature repurposed seatbelts as straps and leather from First and Business Class seats, alongside fabrics from the A380 onboard lounge sofas and aluminium headrests.

To date, more than 30,000 kg of materials have been recovered from 63 retrofitted aircraft, including the Emirates A380 and Boeing 777 fleet, and meticulously transformed into these bespoke pieces, according to the statement. The materials are first laundered, disinfected, and leather-conditioned, before being carefully stitched and lined with new fabrics and zippers.

Every item in the Aircrafted collection is handmade by a dedicated team of 14 Emirates tailors at the Emirates Engineering facility in Dubai. These tailors, officially known as Engineering Maintenance Assistants, were initially tasked with repairing aircraft interiors. Today, thanks to the growing popularity of the Aircrafted and Aircrafted KIDS initiatives, they now focus full-time on crafting these upcycled collectibles.

The Aircrafted by Emirates 2025 Collection not only champions circular design and upcycling but also pays tribute to Emirates’ engineering legacy and commitment to sustainability and social impact.
