Goan Health Minister Vishwajit Rane inuagurated a new plastic waste-to-fuel plant in Pernem, Goa. The groundbreaking facility was initiated by the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) in collaboration with M K Aromatics Ltd.

The plant aims to transform non-recyclable plastics into liquid energy, providing an innovative solution to the persistent issue of plastic waste and garbage. Minister Rane expressed optimism regarding the successful operation of this facility and envisioned the establishment of similar plants across various regions in Goa.

With the ability to process diverse types of plastic waste without the necessity for pre-treatment such as washing, shredding, or sorting, the 10-TPD facility represents a significant leap in waste-to-fuel technology, as highlighted by company officials. The company has strategic plans to set up 100 plastic collection centres throughout Goa, with the first one already operational in Mapusa.
