
Makkah Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the National Center for Waste Management (MWAN), organized a workshop on the “Udeem” program, with broad participation from representatives of government, private, and nonprofit sectors, as part of efforts to enhance environmental compliance and adopt circular economy solutions during the 1447 AH Hajj season, as per a SPA report.
The workshop addressed the best practices in waste management within hospitality centers and service facilities, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact, in line with sustainability objectives and enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims.
MWAN's “Udeem” program aims to organize and enable responsible initiatives that adopt sound practices to support the transition towards a circular economy. The program also seeks to encourage government, private, and nonprofit entities to activate initiatives that create impact in waste reduction, recycling and recovery, circular innovation, and awareness and knowledge.
