Enviroserve announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC), which took place in Abu Dhabi at the TAQA Group stand during the World Utilities Congress in September 2024, according a press statement.
In line with the UAE’s vision of sustainability, the two companies will enter into an agreement in which Enviroserve will provide sustainable practices and services to AADC.
Enviroserve is the leading recycling company in the UAE and offers several recycling services. They will be assisting AADC with e-waste, refrigerant gas recovery and reclaiming, and IT equipment refurbishment and re-use. Enviroserve is licensed and certified to collect and transport all used hazardous materials.
AADC is the sole distributor and supplier of water and electricity in the Eastern Region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (Al Ain city and its surrounding rural areas). They are responsible for the water and electricity distribution network assets, the meter readings and the supply services. According to the statement, the company has a strong social responsibility focus, with one of its stated values being sustainability – specifically to “do what is right for our environment, community, and people”. This value is the impetus for the signing of the agreement with Enviroserve, it read.
Stuart Fleming, CEO of Enviroserve, said, “AADC has expressly stated that it wants to improve and develop its sustainability objectives through an increased participation in recycling processes. We are always delighted when companies prioritise sustainability, and we are equipped and ready to support any initiatives in this regard.”
